Delta Epsilon Chi programs and competitions are clustered around six (6) academic areas:

Competitive Events allow students to put their experience, skills and knowledge to the test while representing their college/university. Compete for top international honors in one of 20 different competitions.

Delta Epsilon Chi competitive events recognize student achievement, and provide opportunities for traveling to conferences and networking with peers. The Delta Epsilon Chi competitive events program is recognized for helping prepare students for their professional careers–in all events students are judged by business and industry professionals.

Competitive Events Updates for 2009–2010

  1. Delta Epsilon Chi will offer a new event beginning in 2009–2010–Web Site Design is a prepared presentation event.
  2. The Internet Marketing case study event will no longer be offered.
  3. Written Event Checklists have been modified. Closely review the updated checklists before submitting any written entry for a prepared presentation event.

Business Simulation Exam Format for the 2009-2010 International Competition
While the format for exams varies for state-level competition, the following structure will be used for the 2010 International Career Development Conference. Events have been clustered around academic areas that share common elements in the knowledge and skills taught in the classroom and that are needed for successful careers in each industry or field.

Each of the 3 different lists includes Performance Indicators that will only be evaluated on the role-play portion of the competitive event. These indicators are clearly marked on each list.

Financial Services
Both the role-play and exam will be based on performance indicators clustered around the area of Finance. View sample test questions, a sample role-play, the list of performance indicators that the event is based on, and other helpful information.

Hospitality

Travel & Tourism
Both the role-play and exam for these 3 events will be based on a list of performance indicators clustered around the area of Hospitality and Tourism. This area encompasses the hotel/motel, restaurant/food service, and travel/tourism industries. Fashion Merchandising & Marketing
Retail Management
Both the role-play and exam for these 2 events will be based on a list of performance indicators clustered around the area of Retail Management and Merchandising.
